It's that time of year again when thousands of people from all over the world dust off the old word processor and pencil, and take part in a mad writing frenzy to jot down 50K words in the rough shape of a story by the end of the month. This year will be my second year to participate. Last year I only made it to the mid 30K mark, but I'm hoping to finish this year. For one thing, I am starting writing from the get go (which I didn't do last year). Also, my plate is cleared off this year (no graduate school busyness to juggle). As an added bonus, I was fortunate enough to be invited to participate as a contributor in the second annual (Parsec Award Nominated) NaNoMonkeys podcast. The NaNoMonkeys is a little podcast created especially for NaNoWriMo to provide the aspiring writer, like myself, a little encouragement and inspiration to keep the words a flow'n this month. There is one short episode (~5 minutes) released for each day of November. I am looking forward to hearing the other contributors episodes, as I predict I'm going to be needing the encouragement, tip, tricks and general goodness as much as the next NaNoWriMo-ian. For my part, I am doing November 5th and 11th episodes.
So, go have a listen and write on everyone, write on. :-)
