The Ghastlytrump Tinies

Hi everyone! Are you registered to vote yet (for USA elections)? Don't know if your registration is valid and up to date?

You can check your status here.

You can register here. Registration deadlines are soon, as in today for some states, so please don't dawdle!

Recently, game designer extraordinaire, Mike Selinker, asked me to help out with this important project. It's now available for participation by you!

Here's the official description of this project:

The Ghastlytrump Tinies is a parody of Edward Gorey’s classic alphabet book The Gashlycrumb Tinies, but with the children representing what we’d lose in a hypothetical (we hope!) Trump administration. It is written by game designer Mike Selinker, illustrated by 26 of the best artists on the planet, and published by Basket of Adorables.
A mere 1,000 copies of this softcover book are available for $25 (plus $10 shipping) - but you can pay that $25 (or more!) as a donation to the Clinton campaign or the Southern Poverty Law Center and only send us ONE PENNY (plus the shipping). If you do that, just email us a copy of your receipt from Hillary Clinton’s donation page or the SPLC donation page. But act now. Once it’s gone, it’s gone like the things in this book will be if we elect Trump.

If this is something you are interested in, you can find all the details, including the contents of the book and an audio version read by the ever delightful The Doubleclicks, over at the official Ghastlytrump Tines website.

Less than a month to go. May the force be with us.

Announcement! Miniatures: The Very Short Fiction of John Scalzi and Illustrated by Yours Truely

Subterranean Press announced today a new book coming early 2017 called, Miniatures: The Very Short Fiction of John Scalzi. As you may have inferred from the title, it's a collection of very short works by science fiction author John Scalzi. You can find more details over on Scalzi's site and on the pre-order page for the book. It's a limited addition printing (1500 copies hardcover signed and numbered by the author) with an extra fancy option too (52 copies leather-bound). Pre-orders are sure to fill up fast, so get yours in soon!

Oh yeah, and did I mention that I'm the illustrator for this delightful packet of fun little fiction goodness? It's true, I am! And I couldn't be any more delighted. I met with John this past weekend at Westercon to work through some of the preliminary cover and interior design ideas. Spoiler: It's going to be so good. SO GOOD.

It's no secret that I'm a fan of John's work as evidenced by infamous churro-corn above, and this, and this, and, and, well, you get the idea. Needless to say, I'm very excited to work on such a great project. Huge thanks to John Scalzi and Subterranean Press for making this happen!

SO GOOD.

(P.S. BUY ALL THE THINGS.)

Rose City Comic Con Sketches

Hey everyone! This past weekend I was lucky enough to share a booth with the always amazing Doubleclicks (they begin an East Coast/Midwest tour this week so make sure you go see them if they are coming to your city) where I sketched Doubleclicks themed art for folks. It was fun and amazing and I hope one day I get to do something like this again. It was thrown together at the last minute, so I apologize to anyone who didn't know I was going to be there.

Here are the sketches from the weekend. Thanks to everyone who stopped by and who requested a sketch!

Joseph Scrimshaw and His Unstable Rodent

What happens when you give a squirrel a martini and a light saber? It's probably best not to think about the ramifications of such actions. However, if you are at all curious, I highly recommend checking out the comedic ramblings of Joseph Scrimshaw. I've also heard he is the primary expert in drunken weaponized squirrels. An unstable squirrel.

In related news, I did design that squirrel image, which, I have to admit, was pretty awesome.

In other related news, you should go check out all of Joseph's hilariously humorous things and go support his Patreon campaign while your at it. If you do happen to join the Patreon campaign, you can get all sorts of fun things including, but not limited to, a copy of his book Comedy of Doom, your very own LOLScrimshaw and short awkward poems about a random thing you think should be honored in short awkward poetic form.

ALSO! If you happen to be in Portland, Oregon tomorrow night (4/18/2014), Joseph is performing at the Secret Society for Nerd Night Out!
