The villagers had never seen such a strange device. It was soft and warm. It didn’t smell of oil or metal or grease. In fact, it didn’t appear to have any metal in it at all. When it moved, there was no sound of gears or pistons.

Normally, I would say you should be a bit concerned if you happened upon a group of beholders. Or at the very least be looking for a nice boulder to hide behind. However, if you ran upon this group, for some reason I don’t think you would be in that much trouble.
