Joseph Scrimshaw and His Unstable Rodent

What happens when you give a squirrel a martini and a light saber? It’s probably best not to think about the ramifications of such actions. However, if you are at all curious, I highly recommend checking out the comedic ramblings of Joseph Scrimshaw. I’ve also heard he is the primary expert in drunken weaponized squirrels.

An unstable squirrel.

In related news, I did design that squirrel image, which, I have to admit, was pretty awesome.

In other related news, you should go check out all of Joseph’s hilariously humorous things and go support his Patreon campaign while your at it. If you do happen to join the Patreon campaign, you can get all sorts of fun things including, but not limited to, a copy of his book Comedy of Doom, your very own LOLScrimshaw and short awkward poems about a random thing you think should be honored in short awkward poetic form.

ALSO! If you happen to be in Portland, Oregon tomorrow night (4/18/2014), Joseph is performing at the Secret Society for Nerd Night Out!

Weekly Comic Update: There’s a Venn For That

Because I somehow forgot to post one of these last week, you get double the goodness. Hooray for forgetfulness?

CS_2-7 Ever wander into a room and forget why you came in there? The horrible abominations over at Cthulhu Slippers also have this problem from time to time.

CS_2-8 Remember folks, a clean fridge is a fridge that probably won’t try to eat you. Probably.

ParsecPoster-tardis

Good news everyone!

It’s that time of the year where you can show your love for your favorite speculative fiction themed podcasts by nominating them for the Parsec Awards!

What are the Parsec Awards? It’s an award given out to celebrate speculative fiction podcasting. This year will be the ninth year running. The awards are presented each year during Dragon*Con.

How can you nominate? The best way is to go to the Official Parsec Awards Nomination page. Make sure to read through the podcast categories to make sure your nomination fits with the awards.

That’s it!

If you feel so inclined to promote the awards, there are also a couple of handy PDF posters for your posting and sharing pleasure.

Weekly Comic Update: Beards and Tentacles

CS_2-5Since I have more than one comic going on right now, I thought it would make more sense to just consolidate these updates each week.

So, to start things off, we learn about tentacles on this week’s episode of Cthulhu Slippers. When one works for a mega-corporation run mostly on and by tentacles, it’s always to wise to gain as much tentacle based knowledge as possible.

Check out the full comic over at Cthulhu Slippers.

jupiter

Also this week we meet another Over-Encumbered character in our house of misfits. Jupiter may look the most “normal” out of the bunch, and in many senses he is, but looks can be diversionary. Or something.

Check out Jupiter’s character sheet over at Over-Encumbered. Now featuring a favicon and sharing buttons. Woo!

In other news, I tried my first Scotch egg last night and it was everything I’d hoped it would be. EGG! AND SAUSAGE! DEEP FRIED! It was glorious.
