We had gone down to San Diego a couple of weeks ago just for the weekend. Given the limited time, we decided to hit the Zoo and Wild Animal Park. This photo was taken at the later. When we were there, as you can see, it decided to rain. A lot. Luckily we were on the tour ride at the time. Then there was a brief break where we dashed over to the covered area by the lions. Surprisingly the lions didn’t dash for cover when it started raining. When it really started to come down a few came over to the covered area to wait it out.
You know what? It’s really hard to get a camera to auto focus in a downpour. Lesson learned. Nevertheless, I love this shot. I mean, cat + tongue + rain, what’s not to love?
Other working titles include (but not limited to):
“Go away, or I shall taunt you a second time!”
“Looks ma! I catch wets on mai tongue!
It no haz flavor.”

I agree, focusing on the rain and getting to capture so that it appears as rain is something I have yet you master. You did a fantastic job in that shot!
I had that problem last week, with trying to focus in snow.
I love how lush and green that green grass is, here!
Gah I’m tired of winter already. ;)
Rachel, Gah! Don’t even get me started with snow. I usually just give up and switch to manual focus in those situations. Yes, that weekend San Diego was the definition of nice weather. :)
