I’ve been trying to start this piece for a while. This month I finally sat down and began the first stages. I had a couple of concept sketches that I wanted to expand upon. This first image is the full clockwork cat idea. In the final piece I envision the contraption to be more detailed and ornate.
This second image is a more detailed exploration of the clockwork cat’s face. I see this clockwork critter as being as artistically detailed as it is mechanically designed. A balance of decoration and functionality. It’s a pet after all. It should be cute. :)
This last image is step one of laying out the piece on a large sheet of bristol. Sorry for the crappy quality of the image. I took a photo instead of scanning and the image is very light so I had to darken a bit.
